Ethical aspects when treating traumatized subjects

Background: In the current era, traumatic events are very common in one’s life that could lead an individual to severe psychotic distress and neuronal impairment in the brain, if not a post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This article highlights the ethical aspects and considerations that should be taken by a certified clinician or psychologist or by a psychotherapist when treating or giving sessions to a traumatized subject.
Methodology: Several search engines and databases were utilized with the key terms Trauma, Insensitive Clinicians, Traumatized Subjects and Ethical Policies to review the current evidence related to ethical aspects while treating traumatized patients.
Results: It is suggested that subjects facing trauma in any form of distressful situations need appropriate communication and handling during the assessment of outcomes and for the symptomatology of that trauma. studies in past suggest that authorized individuals need to be more sensitive towards the traumatized subject’s emotional state and should be aware of the ethical considerations when treating or doing research on the traumatized victim.
Conclusion: It is concluded that the insensitivity of a clinician is observed to be a threat to the physical and mental wellbeing of the subjects. Moreover, the authorized individuals should be aware of the ethical laws and aspects when treating a traumatized victim.
