Abstract

Background: Psychotherapists may promote bibliotherapy as a powerful clinical tool. As bibliotherapy expands, self-help books, computer-assisted therapies, and virtual reality-based approaches have been integrated into the clinician's arsenal.

Methodology: An interventional study has been designed and conducted at different secondary and tertiary healthcare setups to evaluate the efficacy of bibliotherapy in reducing the psychological and emotional stress of nurses. Sadaf Stress Scale was used as a measuring tool to evaluate the stress level of the study participants at the baseline and post-intervention.

Results: present study shows a significant reduction in stress levels in patients who scored severe on SSS from 21% to 16%. 35% to 21% in moderate stress, 24% to 20% in mild stress, and 43% rise in complete stress management.

Conclusion: Bibliotherapy can be a therapeutic tool in the stress management process. Clinicians and psychotherapists must prescribe appropriate literature to their patients to minimize drug dependency.
